BELIEFS

GOD

We believe there is one God, creator and sustainer of all things who eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and distinct from each other, yet one. The doctrine of God’s Triune nature is called the Trinity. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-18).

JESUS

We believe Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead three days after He was crucified according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. According to the Scriptures, The Holy Spirit comforts us, teaches us, gives gifts to us, reminds us of everything Jesus has spoken, and leads us into all truth (John 14; 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18).

THE BIBLE

We believe The Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.  (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

Humanity

We believe God created both male and female in His own image for fellowship with Him; that mankind sinned against God and thereby incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death, which is separation from God; that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are sinners by choice, and are therefore under God’s righteous, divine condemnation. Fallen, sinful people, whatever their character or attainments, are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ. (Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7  Romans 1:18-32, 3:9-19,3: 23).

Life

We believe that all human life is scared and created by God in His image.  Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, and the mentally and physically challenged and every other state or condition from conception to natural death.  We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life.

(Psalm 139)

Salvation

We believe The fall of man caused separation between God and all people, rendering man ultimately hopeless and in danger of eternal damnation. God in His love, not wanting anyone to perish, sent Christ into the world. The sacrificial death of Jesus, and His blood shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people repent and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through any self-effort. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts (Matthew 4:17; John 1:10-13, 3:16-21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).

Evidence of Salvation

We believe biblical salvation is characterized by godly sorrow, repentance, and embracing Christ as one’s Savior, Lord, and Treasure. This “re-birth” through the Spirit is evidenced by a growing understanding of God’s Word, new affections for God and hatred for sin, desires to please Him and not the world, and works by the obedience of faith. These new works do not produce salvation but rather are the natural fruits of true saving faith. They do not earn grace but are rather evidence of grace. (Ephesians 2; Romans 1, Philippians 2:12-13; John 15, Galatians 3:3; 5:22-26.

1 Peter 2:2-3; 2  Peter 1:10).

Christian Conduct, Sanctification, and Perseverance

a.) We believe that a Christian should conduct their life solely for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow man; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful and generous steward of his possessions, and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 12:1-3; Hebrews 12:1-2, 14; John 14:15, 23-24; 1 John 2:3-6; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9; 1 Corinthians 4:2; Colossians 1:9-10; Hebrews 2:10-11,12:1-2,14; 2 Peter 3:11-14; Ephesians 4:17-32).

b.) We believe the Holy Spirit is the indwelling active agent in our progressive sanctification; that He seeks to produce His fruit in us as our minds are renewed by His Word and we are conformed to the image of Christ; that though our battle with indwelling sin continues throughout our lives, as we are led by the Spirit, we are enabled to walk in the Spirit and so delight in God’s commandments that we truly endeavor to live in this world for the glory of God. (Galatians 3:1-6, 5:16-26; 1 Corinthians 1:1-2, 30; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; 4:2, 6:17-18; Romans 6:11-14, 8:29, 12:1-3; Colossians 3:5-9; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7; 1 John 2:3-6; John 14:15,23-27, 15:11).

c.) We believe all Christians are commanded by God to persevere in their faith, knowing that they will give an account to God for their every word and deed; that the spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, worship, giving, fellowship, confession of sin, and the active sharing of one’s faith are provided by God as vital means of grace to assist us in our pursuit of holiness; that the believer’s ultimate confidence of persevering in the faith is based solely on the grace and promise of God to keep all those who are His to the end. (Galatians 5:1-15, 6:11-18; 1 Timothy 4:15-16; James 1:12, Matthew 10:22, 24:13).

The Church: God’s People

We believe The Church is the local and global community of believers who acknowledge Jesus as their Savior. The Church is not a location, religious institution, or weekly event. The Church is the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and made up of born-again believers who carry the divine mission of spreading the Gospel to the whole world. Locally, our church gathers every week corporately on Sundays and in small groups during the week to worship, pray, grow through biblical instruction, and to strengthen and support each other.  (Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).

TWO SACRAMENTS

Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48

The Lord’s Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).

Marriage & Sexuality

We believe that marriage is a biblical institution established by God as clearly described in the Scriptures. We believe that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in an exclusive covenant commitment for a lifetime. (Genesis 1-3, Ephesians 5,

1 Corinthians 7, Romans 1).

We believe the Bible teaches that sexuality is a good gift from God and that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. We believe all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, fornication, homosexuality, pedophilia, transgender behavior, bi-sexuality, bestiality, lascivious conduct, the distribution and/or viewing of pornography, and any other sexual deviation, are incompatible with the teaching of the Bible. (Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 5-6).

Restoration:
Earth Renewed

We believe the consummation of all things will happen in the visible and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to judge the just and the unjust and to fulfill His kingdom in the establishing the new heavens and the new earth. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal happiness of the righteous, and the endless, conscious suffering of the wicked in hell. (Matt. 24:44, 25:13; Mark 13:32-33; Luke 12:40; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 1:9-11, 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:28; James 5:8; I John 3:2; Revelation 20:11-15, 22:8-20).
